Public Enemy's Chuck D once rapped, "Burn, Hollywood ,Burn"; UC Irvine professor Mike Davis is not by any accounts a rapper but he's written the remix: Let Malibu Burn. Like the LA Times' Gustavo Arellano saw fit to do after the devastating Woolsey fire, we're revisiting a few of Professor Davis' greatest hits, tunes he has been sounding out since 1995 that fighting fires in  the fire-prone seaside enclave is a waste of public resources.
